Mentha x piperita 'Chocolate Mint'
Chocolate Mint is another great peppermint, but with distinct chocolate overtones. Chocolate mint is an old time favorite culinary and beverage mint. Try some leaves infused in coffee, hot chocolate, or tea. Chocolate mint doesn't smell or taste like chocolate, but rather it is a reminder of a Chocolate dinner mint. The suggestion of Chocolate is there and is strong enough to make us fall in love with it. Small dark green leaves have a strong peppermint patty like scent and flavor. This mint plant tends to spread quickly and creep along the ground instead of growing upward like other mints. Easy to grow perennial in zones 4-9.
