Product Description

Hibiscus syriacus 'Ardens'
Commonly sold as Double Purple

FEATURES

A heirloom introduction from 1873 that is still planted by gardeners worldwide for its show of beautiful double lilac purple blooms. You're in for a real treat with this lovely Rose of Sharon that will have your neighbors wanting to stop by to check it out! 'Ardens' features large and extremely showy double flowers in a sumptuous shade of lilac purple that sit majestically against a backdrop of lush green foliage. The delightfully ruffled petals surround a dark maroon color burst that peeks out from the center. Bloom starts in summer and often continues well into fall on this low maintenance large shrub...or simply remove lower branches to form an eye-catching small tree! Ardens is one of Danny's favorite varieties. He often stops in the yard just to admire its beauty.
